Deep Robotics Introduction
Deep Robotics (DR), an innovative technology company is dedicated to the research and development, production and sales of high-end intelligent quadruped robots. DR aims to help universities and researchers, promote teaching and research in the fields of legged robots and Artificial Intelligence (AI). DR also aims to provide industrial clients, with intelligent manufacturing operations and AI solutions.
DR was founded in 2017 by Professor Zhu Quiguo and his team; working at the Department of Control Science in Zhejiang University, which is rated number 4 in China and has a world ranking of 53 according to QS2020.
JY Mini Specification
JY Mini has an open platform and Software Development Kit (SDK) to support further customized development; it has multi-model movements, localisation, navigation and perception. JY Mini can be adapted to complex new environments and has the ability to resist external disturbances, whilst in operation.
JY Mini has 4 legs, each leg has 3 Degrees of Freedom (DOFs), in total 12 DOFs, with each DOF consisting of a large power DC motor, a precision reduction mechanism and a high-precision encoder. JY Mini can provide sufficient power to each joint of the legs, it also has good control performance and can provide accurate angle information to meet the needs of developing various gait movements and control. The torso part of the JY Mini consists of a motion controller, a sensing module, an electrical-sensing system and a high-speed communication bus. JY Mini supports the Robot Operating System (ROS) and it is an ideal platform for education and research.
JY Mini (Basic) has a Vision Sensor.
JY Mini (Advanced) contains a Lidar and Vision Sensor and is an intelligent quadruped robot; which can walk flexibly on complex terrain and support voice, vision and other interactive modes. JY Mini supports two development interfaces of motion control and intelligent perception, which is convenient for secondary development and can be used in teaching, scientific research and competitions.

In Japan some primary school children are currently being taught Python. JY Mini would be a very useful robot for school children to help them learn about robots and develop their knowledge and enthusiasm for learning programming skills. Furthermore, JY Mini could be utilized to help older people, who are without job skills and require retraining.
